Rules and Regulations

Discipline

At Imperial Science and Commerce PU College, discipline is given utmost importance. All students and staff are expected to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of the institution and maintain exemplary conduct at all times.

Admission Procedure

Each student whose application form is registered will receive an intimation letter. If called for an interview, the student must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The following documents must be brought along with the intimation letter:

Intimation letter

Original and photocopies of required academic records

Any other documents as specified in the intimation

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 9:15 a.m. – 3:50 p.m.

Saturday: 9:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Each student will attend a two-hour weekly practical session in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, or Computer Science, depending on their subject combination.

Identity Card and Calendar

Students must wear their identity card and carry the college calendar every day.

The identity card is mandatory for library use and for appearing in college examinations.

Attendance and Leave Policy

Punctuality and regular attendance are essential.

Leave must be applied for in advance, through a written request from a parent/guardian addressed to the Principal.

In case of emergencies, a leave note from the parent/guardian should be recorded in the calendar.

Medical leave requires a valid medical certificate, but such a certificate does not guarantee attendance credit.

Absence on examination days or the reopening day after vacations is treated seriously and may result in fines or loss of attendance.

A minimum of 75% attendance in each subject (including theory and practical) is mandatory. Shortage of attendance will not be condoned, regardless of the reason.

General Rules

Misconduct, irregular attendance, disrespect to faculty, late coming, or use of inappropriate language or behavior can result in suspension or dismissal.

Minor offences are punishable with a fine or deduction in attendance.

Students must maintain proper classroom behavior and show respect toward faculty and peers.

Students are responsible for their personal belongings, which should be clearly labeled with their name.

Prohibited items: Unapproved books/magazines, mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and scientific calculators (except for use in Statistics). These items, if found, will be confiscated and not returned.

No meetings, activities, or collections of funds are allowed on campus without the Principal’s prior approval.

Educational tours and picnics require written approval from the Principal and prior consent from parents/guardians.

The progress report must be signed by the parent/guardian on the result day. Failure to do so will result in the student being barred from attending classes until compliance.

Dress Code

Wearing the prescribed uniform is compulsory on all working days, study holidays, and until the college officially closes for vacation.

Girls: Half-sleeve kameez, salwar, and shawl.

Boys: Half-sleeve shirt, full trousers, plain black belt, and brown or black shoes.
(Jeans, color vests, and low-waist trousers are strictly prohibited.)

Laboratory Rules

Students must attend all practical classes and submit their record work on time.

Late submission does not permit make-up practicals.

Students are required to handle equipment with care and pay for any damage or breakage along with any applicable penalties. Failure to comply will result in withholding of the hall ticket.

Strict silence must be maintained in laboratories.

Entry to laboratories is only allowed with the lecturer’s permission.

Assignments and Projects

Timely submission of assignments and project work is mandatory.

Completion and submission of Part I (workbook and course book) is compulsory for issuance of the final examination hall ticket.

Parental Involvement

Parents/guardians are expected to actively participate in their ward’s academic progress by:

Supervising daily studies at home

Monitoring attendance and behavior

Cooperating with the faculty for the holistic development of the student

Important Note

Admissions are granted for one academic year at a time. All students admitted must unconditionally accept the rules currently in force and those that may be introduced during the academic year. Non-compliance by students or indifference from parents/guardians may result in denial of admission for the following year.
